Princess Diana
Princess Diana’s Marriage & Friendship to Royal Butler

Former royal butler Paul Burrell speaks on Princess Diana’s marriage and discusses his own “unique” friendship with her: “Towards the end of the princess’s life, I became…everything. I became her policeman, her dresser, her valet, her butler, her driver, her confidante, her friend and the list goes on. And there was nothing I wouldn’t have done for the princess.” Burrell talks about what she was like on her last days and how she needed a lot of reassurance from him. He was surprised to learn that Princess Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles was such an unhappy one. She used to tell him: “I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince, and then I found a frog.” The marriage came to an end on August 28, 1996 and she tragically death in a car crash on August 31, 1997 in Paris.
