Dust Bowl
‘He’s a Farmer, He Isn’t Gonna Quit’

In this in-depth interview, Dust Bowl survivor Lowell Kastner talks about the adverse impact that the severe dust storms that plagued the prairie lands in the U.S. and Canada during the 1930s had on his father’s cattle business. Kastner imparts how his memories of the Dust Bowl, also known as the Dirty Thirties, are strongly tied to memories of his father’s perseverance as a farmer.
