Tommie Smith discusses the motivation behind the Olympic black power salute and what happened to fellow 200-meter dash medal winner Peter Norman after he returned to Australia. At the 1968 Olympics Smith and athlete John Carlos did the black power salute while celebrating their medal ceremony in support of civil rights around the world. Smith was interviewed during the UK premiere of "Salute" a documentary about the infamous event.
