American television host Merv Griffin interviews Orson Welles on the day of his death, October 10, 1985. Welles was known to seldom agree to interviews but he agreed to give his friend, Griffin, a chance to ask whatever questions he wanted. In the interview, Welles describes his version of the worst kind of pain and how he first spotted his future wife Rita Hayworth–and also comments on what he thought of Marlene Dietrich.
