Watch Jodie Foster’s press conference on April 2, 1981 following John Hinckley’s assasination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.  Hinckley, who began stalking Foster at Yale University shortly after she appeared in the 1976 film “Taxi Driver.” He claimed that his attempt on Reagan’s life was a ploy to impress the 17-year-old movie star. On June 21, 1982, Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity and was instead confined to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
