James Cameron Interview with Discovery News on ‘Avatar’

James Cameron, director and CEO of Digital Domain, discusses his propensity for technology and how he digitally made his script for “Avatar” come to life. Cameron started writing the movie in 1995 in hopes of pushing the limits of CG Art for his company and the movie world. Cameron is responsible for writing and directing movies such as Terminator in 1984, Titanic in 1997 and most recently, directing Avatar in 2009. This first person account shows his interest in CG characters, 3D and performance capture as well as Cameron’s hopes to make movies with characters the audience can “believe in as emotional creatures”. The film, “Avatar,” premiered on December 18, 2009.
