Holocaust Survivor: ‘I Found Meaning in Being Jewish’

This Holocaust survivor gives her account of being in hiding from the Nazis. She talks about living in a barrel underground for a year and a half. While in hiding, she recalls wishing she was Christian instead of Jewish. After finding refuge on a boat called the Exodus, she remembers seeing a boy wave an Israeli flag and, in that moment, she “found meaning in being Jewish.”
