Charles M. Schulz on Being Inducted Into the Cartoonists Hall Of Fame

Charles Gibson interviews “Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz on Good Morning America (ABC) as the cartoonist is poised to be inducted into the Cartoonist Hall of Fame. This show aired in May 1987. Schulz muses over the characters of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus and Peppermint Patty; shares why he is honored by the hall of fame induction (to be held later that day); and says which character he would have liked to have had as a childhood friend. On January 3, 2000, the last original weekday Peanuts comic strip was published and the final Sunday strip was published on February 13, 2000. Peanuts was created by Schultz on October 2, 1950.
