Ex-Wife of Beltway Sniper Remembers Attacks

Mildred Mohammad took her three children and left her ex-husband, John Allan Mohammad, in the Fall of 2001. She moved from Washington State to Maryland. In October 2002, she answered her door to find an ATF agent who wanted to bring her in for questioning. Her ex-husband, John Allan Mohammad, was captured and convicted of being the mastermind Beltway Sniper. Of learning of his involvement, Mohammad says: “My head just hit the table.” She also reveals that the police believed the attacks were part of a larger plan to distract from his real target – her: “I just went in horror thinking about all of those innocent people that were killed because he was trying to hide his efforts to murder me.”
