Listen to Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, discuss working with Annie Leibovitz: “You have to give her an important dress. You don’t go to annie to do a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. She loves the couture, she loves a ball gown. She needs something that will really fill the page. Otherwise I don’t think she can take the picture. Or she needs a narrative involving a lot of people. So her approach to fashion was very different for Vogue, and I think very innovative and very exciting, and certainly got us a huge amount of attention because she took fashion in such a different direction.”
