Nuclear technician, Carl Pillitteri, was one of 38 Americans at Fukushima when tragedy hit on March 11, 2011. Pillteri interviewed with Alex Chadwick, the host of the new American Public Media series, “BURN: An Energy Journal,” gives a first-person account on the day he survived the Tōhoku earthquake in Fukushima, which triggered the tsunami that hit the nuclear plant. The horror from that day still haunts Pillitteri who struggles to return to his normal life.
