On February 3, 1969, Yasser Arafat became the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). This video is a clip from Arafat’s first address to the United Nations on November 13, 1974, in which he tells them: “I come to you bearing an olive branch in one hand and a freedom fighter’s gun in the other. Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand.”
