Ronald Reagan announces his run for Governor of California on January 4th, 1966. The famous actor, who had formerly been the President of the Screen Actors Guild, ran for Governor and won. He went on to become a two-term President of the United States. Reagan was sworn in as Governor on January 2nd 1967.
