The New Yorker is an iconic American magazine that focuses on the cultural life of New York City, but also includes essays and commentaries on popular culture and eccentric Americana. The New Yorker’s first issue was published on February 21, 1925. In this video, The New Yorker’s creative director, Wyatt Mitchell, talks about the process the magazine went through in 2013 when it was trying to redesign its look. Says Mitchell: “We were looking at the magazine’s historical roots and we saw some design touches in its first issues and wanted to bring them back.”
