Gregg Allman discusses his brother Duane Allman and the formation of the Allman Brothers Band. The Allman Brothers Band was formed in Jacksonville, Fl in 1969. Duane was famous for his remarkable skills on the slide guitar and the lead guitar. Gregg was the vocals and keyboards. Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks and Jao Johanny Johanson on drums completed the band. They are, in many ways, considered the architects of southern rock.
Duane Allman died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Macon, GA on October 29th, 1971. The group moved forward and went on to release great work.
