President Barack Obama, Representative Patrick Murphy, and soldiers affected by the decision discuss the importance of repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The policy was enacted in December 22, 1993 and which went into effect February 28, 1994. The military policy last until September 20, 2011, after a training period to acclimate the military to the idea of openly serving soldiers.
