Aiko Kori Shares Her Survival Story

Aiko Kori describes surviving the atomic bomb attack on the Japanese city of Nagasaki during World War II. Only 17 years old at the time, Kori recalls being mistaken for a corpse, narrowly escaping cremation, and picking maggots out of her wounds–among other horrors. The bomb dropped on Nagasaki by the United states on August 9, 1945; the second atomic bomb dropped in history and the last to date.
