Paul Winters, a D-Day medic in the F-Company, 116th Infantry, 29th Divison, describes the chaos and the terror of the Omaha Beach landings. He was one of the first to get to the coast as German machine guns fired at him and–making his experience even more precarious–was the fact that he was unarmed.
