Benazir Bhutto served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for two non-consecutive terms from 1988-1990 and from 1993-1996. She was the eldest daughter of former Pakistani prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. With her election in 1988, Bhutto became the first female leader of a Muslim country.
