Breaking Bad is a television series drama that aired on the AMC network from January 2008 to September 2013. The show tells the story of Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, who is a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Along with a former student, Walter White begins to produce and sell methamphetamine to earn enough money to provide for his family after he dies. Breaking Bad is considered to be one of the greatest television series ever made, and has received awards including sixteen Emmy Awards. Matt Groening is an American cartoonist best known for creating the TV series The Simpsons. The Simpsons first came on air in 1989 and continues producing new episodes to this day. The Simpsons were originally created while Groening was working on The Tracey Ullman Show. While the parents and siblings were named after Groening’s own family, the protagonist Bart was an anagram of the word brat. Groening has gone on to win 12 Emmy Awards for his work. In this video, Groening discusses his childhood and how his TV addiction helped him to identify the gaps he felt existed in TV programming, ultimately lending to his success later on.

The show was groundbreaking in that it was the first with a central female character who was a never-married career woman. In this video, Harper recalls what it was like to work with Mary Tyler Moore. Says Harper: “Mary Tyler Moore was an absolute angel to work with and she was very like the character of Mary, only I would say more sophisticated, more chic, more acerbic, more witty.”

In 1972, Sammy Davis Jr. made a guest appearance as himself on an episode of All In The Family. In the episode, Davis leaves a briefcase in Archie Bunker’s taxi and goes to the Bunker home to retrieve it. When he hears Archie’s racist remarks, Davis asks to take a picture with him. As the picture is being taken, Davis leans over and kisses Archie on the cheek. The episode went on to be nominated for two Emmys. Dick Van Dyke is an actor best known for his work in the films Bye Bye Birdie and Mary Poppins, as well as his television show The Dick Van Dyke Show. In The Dick Van Dyke show, Van Dyke’s on screen wife was played by Mary Tyler Moore. In this video, both Moore and Van Dyke speak to their on-screen chemistry. Moore says: “We just liked each other right from the beginning. I was, again, in awe of him. He had just come off Bye Bye Birdie the musical Broadway show, and I had been playing that music endlessly. I used to love do to that to remind me of my beginnings as a dancer, and he was a dancer – self taught. And he was so good looking. There was just right away a sense of being very happy, very safe in the talent that he shared with me, and very comfortable in the humor that we shared and appreciation for each other’s gifts.”

So he put his name as Jamie Foxx, something ambiguous but sounds like it could be a fine girl. And sure enough, it worked. But now he’s stuck with being Jamie Foxx.”
