In this video, Jose Sanchez Gronlier expresses his thoughts on President Obama’s announcement, saying: “This is a sad day for the United States and for Cuba and the Cuban people because the United States has given in to a hostage-taking, which was an act of state terrorism by the Castro dictatorship – has rewarded, amply rewarded, the dictatorship with all sorts of concessions and that will enable the Castro dictatorship to consolidate itself in power and to continue oppressing the Cuban people for far longer than it would.”

On December 11, 1964, Che Guevara addressed the United Nations General Assembly as head of the Cuban delegation. In expressing Cuba’s frustration with the actions of the United States, he says: “The United States, furthermore, tried to get the UN to inspect our territory. But we emphatically refuse, since Cuba does not recognize the right of the United States, or of anyone else in the world, to determine the type of weapons Cuba may have within its boarders… So long as the world is governed by these principles, so long as the world is governed by those concepts that have universal validity because they are universally accepted and recognized by the peoples, we will not accept the attempt to deprive us of any of those rights, and we will renounce none of them.”

On the evening of February 6, 1962, Press Secretary Pierre Salinger was asked by President Kennedy to track down and purchase 1,000 Cuban cigars “by tomorrow morning”. The next day when Salinger entered the Oval Office and gave President Kennedy the 1,200 Cuban cigars he had procured, he recalls: “He opens up his desk drawer and he pulls out the decree banning all Cuban products from the United States and signs it.” Later that year, Salinger would travel to Russia to met with Soviet leader Khrushchev, who gifted him 250 Cuban cigars. Salinger decided to try and get through customs with the cigars. When he told President Kennedy what he had brought back from Russia, Salinger says that Kennedy instructed him: “Do you realize the scandal there would be in this country if people found out about it? You’ve gotta get rid of these cigars. You’ve got to go to the head of US Customs and turn them over to him and he’s got to write a letter saying that he’s got them, because otherwise we’re going to be in deep trouble.”

Famous actor Errol Flynn is interviewed about his time spent in Cuba during the Cuban Revolution. Flynn is very supportive of Fidel Castro and his regime and defends Castro when asked about the many executions that the Cuban leader ordered. Flynn met Castro in 1958 when he went to Cuba to film the movie, “Cuban Rebel Girls.” In his last known work as an actor, Flynn narrated a documentary called, “Cuban Story: The Truth About Fidel Castro’s Revolution.” Flynn is most famous for starring in many action-adventure films throughout the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
